TD Hanna Dissipates But Heavy Rains Still Expected

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Tropical Depression Hanna has dissipated but heavy rains are expected to continue over Honduras and northern Nicaragua.

As of 11 p.m., the remnants of Hanna were about 95 miles west-southwest of the Honduras-Nicaragua border near Cabo Gracias a Dios with maximum sustained winds of 35 miles per hour.

The government of Honduras has discontinues the tropical storm warning for the coast of Honduras.

The remnants of Hanna will move over portions of Honduras and northern Nicaragua overnight Monday and into Tuesday.

The dissipated storm is forecast to produce total rainfall accumulations of 3 to 5 inches with isolated maximum amounts of 9 inches across Honduras and northern Nicaragua.  These rainfall amounts will produce life-threatening flash floods and mudslides.
