Trump Talks About Veteran Donations Controversy

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- After months of lingering questions, Donald Trump addressed the controversy surrounding his donations to veterans groups on Tuesday.
Trump held a news conference at Trump Tower in New York City to answer questions about money he said he raised for veterans groups.
"The money has all been sent. I wanted to keep it private, if we could, I wanted to keep it private because I don't think it's anybody's business," said Trump.
The billionaire boasted about raising millions of dollars for veterans at a rally back in January.
"We just cracked six million dollars, right? Six million," said Trump back on January 28th.
For months, details were vague about exactly how much was raised and which groups received the money.
The presumptive Republican presidential nominee complained the media is spinning his good deed into something negative.
"I've never seen such bad publicity for doing a good job," said Trump.
Whether this controversy hurts Trump remains to be seen. A new poll shows Trump and Hillary Clinton are in a virtual tie.
Clinton leads by two points, just over the margin of error. The same poll shows Bernie Sanders leading Trump by 12 points.
"We don't get intimidated easily," said Trump.
With just one week to go before California's primary, Sanders is campaigning hard there, forcing Clinton to return earlier than planned in an effort to avoid an embarrassing loss.
Clinton did get a bit of good news in California Tuesday morning. Governor Jerry Brown endorsed her saying while he was impressed with Sanders' performance in the primaries, Clinton has shown the ability to get things done.
