DORAL (CBSMiami) – Judging from Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's Twitter account, he isn't too happy with Iowa voters who picked neurosurgeon Ben Carson as their top choice for president in a recent poll.

Following the release of the newest Quinnipiac poll showing Carson in the lead, Trump's account retweeted someone who seemed to be suggesting that Ben Carson's rise could be attributed to brain damage caused by genetically modified corn:

Donald Trump blamed an intern for retweeting a comment that suggested corn had damaged the brain of Iowa voters. (Source: Twitter)

That retweet was deleted.

Hours later, an explanation was finally given:

This Quinnipiac poll was the first to show Trump behind a competitor since he entered the presidential race. Carson has tied him in other polls, but had never beaten him.

Trump is scheduled to make his first South Florida campaign stop on Friday.

Hopefully yuca con mojo or platanos maduros are kept out of this.
