Hurricane Watch Issued For Bermuda

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Bermuda is under a Hurricane Watch and Tropical Storm Warning as Tropical Storm Karl heads its way.
At 11 a.m. the center of Karl was about 255 miles south of Bermuda.
Karl's maximum sustained winds were 60 mph as it moved to the north near 12 mph. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Karl is expected to become a hurricane on Saturday.
A turn toward the northeast with an increase in forward speed is expected on Saturday. On the forecast track, the center of Karl should pass near or to the east of Bermuda late tonight or early Saturday.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Lisa is petering out due to strong wind shear.
At 11 a.m. the center of the storm was about 910 miles west-northwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.
The storm had maximum sustained winds of 40 mph as it moved to the northwest at 7 mph.
Additional weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Lisa could become a remnant low over the weekend.
There are no watches or warnings in effect for this storm.
