Tropical Park Hosts Homeless Pets Looking For Loving Owners

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- If you're looking for a furry friend, try Tropical Park.

Local rescue groups are hosting  a 12-hour mega-adoption event on Saturday to find homes for hundred of homeless animals.

The adoption of puppies and kittens kicked-off the festivities at 9:00 a.m.

The Humane Society of Greater Miami alone has over 60 puppies at the event looking for a loving family.

Possible pet owners have various breeds, sizes, colors and personalities to choose from.

Pets looking for a loving home are at the park's equestrian center.

Admission and parking is free.

Adoptions start at $20 for cats and $35 for dogs.

For those just wanting to have some fun, there are various children's activities, DJ's and live performances on stage. Kid's can also enjoy an egg hunt at 12:30 p.m. with over 1,000 gift eggs.

The event will continue until 9:00 p.m.
