Tropical Storm Sebastien Treking Northwest Across The Atlantic

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Tropical Storm Sebastien continues its northwestern trek across the Atlantic.

At 4 p.m., the center of the system was about 275 miles northeast of the Northern Leeward Islands.

It was moving to the northwest at 12 mph with maximum sustained winds of 45 mph.

A turn to the north is expected on Wednesday followed by a turn to the northeast with an increase in forward speed Wednesday night. Sebastien is forecast to stay over open water.

While some slight strengthening is possible over the next day or so, Sebastien is expected to become absorbed by a cold front in a couple of days.

There are no watches or warnings in effect for this storm.
