COCOA (CBSMiami/AP) — A central Florida woman is in the hospital and a 7-year-old is dead after an all-terrain vehicle she was driving flipped.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, 42-year-old Christine Chmiel of Cocoa was driving the ATV on a dirt road Saturday afternoon when she lost control while making a turn.

Troopers say the ATV flipped onto Chmiel's passenger, Hunter Richard of Cocoa.

Both Chmiel and Hunter were flown to a hospital. Hunter died at the hospital, and troopers say Chmiel remains hospitalized with serious injuries.

According to FHP, the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending against Chmiel.
