DADE CITY (CBSMiami/AP) — Trial has been delayed indefinitely for a former Tampa Police captain accused of shooting and killing a man during an argument in a movie theater.

Defense attorneys for 72-year-old Curtis Reeves told Pasco County Judge Pat Siracusa on Wednesday they need more time to interview witnesses. Trial had tentatively been set for March.

Reeves is charged with second-degree murder in the January killing of 43-year-old Chad Oulson after the two began arguing before a showing of the war film "Lone Survivor." Authorities said the disagreement began over Oulson's sending text messages during the previews.

Siracusa set a status hearing for Jan. 29.
