Trial Date Set For Alleged Drunk Driver Who Killed Kaely Camacho

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A trial date has been set for the man accused in the DUI hit and run crash that killed 13-year-old Kaely Camacho.

Friday morning, a judge set February 25th as the start date for the trial of Sandor Guillen.

While members of Camacho's family did attend Friday's hearing, nobody made any statements.

It was April 13, 2012 when Guillen's SUV T-boned a mini-van driven by Kirk Camacho as he crossed the busway at SW 184th Street and U.S. 1.

Camacho's two teenage daughters were in the mini-van. Kaely Camacho was killed, her sister Bree Ann was injured.

Police said Guillen jumped out of his Range Rover and ran away but he was eventually taken into custody.

Police said Guillen was illegally driving on the busway, speeding at roughly 100 miles per hour, and driving with a blood alcohol level approximately three times the legal limit when the crash occurred.

Guillen pleaded not guilty to DUI manslaughter, vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident.
