Thousands Of Treadmills Recalled Over Potential Fire Hazard

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Thousands of treadmills are being recalled, and this time it's not Peloton.

Johnson Health Tech is recalling its Matrix Fitness T1x, T1xe, T3x, and T3xh treadmills due to an issue with the power cord, that can cause a fire risk.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission said the recall was triggered by dozens of reports from owners that their power cord and socket had started to spark, smoke, or melt.

In seven instances the problem started a fire.
