ORLANDO, Fla. (CBSMiami/AP) — A travel agency will soon offer twice-weekly flights between Orlando and Cuba.

The agency, Island Travel and Tours, says it will, on July 8, begin nonstop service between Orlando and Havana. The charter flights will take place on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Island Travel and Tours president Bill Hauf says the aim of the flights are to provide more options to travelers wanting to visit Cuba, including local colleges, universities, religious groups, businesses and other organizations.

The travel agency also flies six times a week from Miami to Havana and provides packages including hotels, rent-a-cars and tour programs through the Cuban island.

All flights have received official government approval by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
