Train Strikes & Kills Man Laying On Tracks

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami Fire Rescue said a train struck and killed a man laying down in the middle of the tracks Tuesday evening.

The train was moving eastbound approaching NW 7th Avenue.

According to a Miami fire spokesperson, the train operator attempted to slow down and blared the horn to alert the man.

The man reportedly did not move and was struck.

The train came to a complete stop a block east of impact.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene.

The FEC and Miami-Dade Police Department are on scene investigating.

The man has not been identified, but officials said he appeared to be in his 50s.
