Tractor Trailer Crash On Turnpike At Golden Glades Snarls Traffic

MIAMI GARDENS (CBSMiami) - One person was rushed to the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer on the Turnpike.
The crash happened in the southbound lanes of the Turnpike heading into the Golden Glades interchange.
When Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived, they said the semi-truck was fully engulfed in flames.
After the main fire was knocked down, crews had to cut a hole in the cargo area of the truck to reach the remainder of the fire.
Drivers were urged to avoid the southbound Turnpike heading into the interchange and take I-95 as an alternate.
The injured person was taken to Aventura Hospital, no word on their injuries.
