NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE (CBSMiami) – Police are investigating the theft of cargo being delivered by truck drivers in Northwest Miami-Dade.

According to the detectives at the Miami-Dade Police Department, the victims were making a delivery at a pharmacy located at 750 NW 119 Street November 14.

While Robert Chancey was inside the business to retrieve a trolley, Gadier Canal went to the back of the trailer of the truck to count the merchandise, police explained.

That's when Canal said he noticed a U-Haul van behind the trailer and three males got out of the U-Haul.

One of the subjects had a gun and ordered Canal to the floor, police said.

Chancey encountered the subjects as he walked out of the business.

Police said the subject with the gun demanded Canal help the three thieves unload approximately $25,000 worth of cigarettes from the trailer.

The three subjects left the area.

The U-Haul van had an Arizona Tag AG3-3520.

Anyone with information about the crime can call Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
