Tenured Broward County Teachers Receiving Pay Raise

BROWARD (CBSMiami) – Broward County teachers are one step closer to a new agreement.

On Monday night, the school board voted to give tenured teachers a 2.5 percent pay bump.

These are teachers with 26 years or more of experience.

But the board voted to no longer pay for extra for high school teachers who teach a sixth period class.

The teacher's union must still ratify the proposal.

The sides previously agreed all other teachers are getting a 2.5 percent raise.
