TAMPA (CBSMiami/AP) — Prank calls are never a good thing, but that was taken to another level by three teenagers on Florida's west coast.

Authorities say three Tampa Bay area teens have been charged with making threatening calls to Hillsborough County's 911 dispatch center.

The sheriff's office reported Wednesday that a 17-year-old girl, a 17-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy were arrested and charged with threatening to discharge a destructive device and misusing the 911 system.

Authorities say four 911 calls placed Saturday evening included threats to blow up the dispatch center and kill dispatchers with a shotgun.

The calls all came from a single cell phone, which detectives were able to track down. Officials say all three teens admitted to participating in the calls.
