Teenagers Arrested In Series Of Coral Gables Car Burglaries

CORAL GABLES (CBSMiami) -- Two people have been arrested following a series of car burglaries in Coral Gables.

Brayan A. Reyes, 18, and a 16-year-old female were apprehended early Saturday morning during a traffic stop on a stolen car by a City of Miami Police officer.

"Officers from the City of Miami Police Department's Gang Unit recognized the subjects wanted in the City of Coral Gables Police bolo flyer for vehicle burglaries that were committed over the Labor Day holiday weekend," officials said in a statement to the media.

A total of 14 vehicles were broken into and one was stolen.

Detectives with the Coral Gables Police Dept. responded and interviewed the two teens, who confessed to the burglaries, they said.

Reyes was charged with 2 counts of vehicle burglary and 1 count of trespass to a conveyance.

The 16-year-old was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, trespass to a conveyance, and 6 counts of vehicle burglary.

Police are still looking for a third person believed to be involved.
