Teenage Boy, Four Others Shot In Northwest Miami-Dade

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Several people have been hospitalized after a shooting in Northwest Miami-Dade County.

According to Miami-Dade Police, five people including a 17-year-old boy were shot on Tuesday night.

The shooting took place at Northwest 17th Avenue and Northwest 86th Terrace.

Police were first called to the neighborhood around 8 p.m. for a report of a woman shot.

Upon arrival, they found five victims which included a teenage boy, an adult female and three adult males.

All the victims were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center in stable condition and are expected to survive.

The victims range in age from 17 to 23, per police.

Police say the victims were visiting friends outside the home when the shooting occurred.

The shooting was isolated to the front yard and police believe some of the victims fled to nearby locations to seek assistance.

Authorities are looking for a subject but gave no additional details other than that there is no indication that this was a drive-by shooting.
