Technical Issue Put A Damper On Cruise To Cuba

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A ship scheduled to head to Cuba, returned to Port Miami due to a technical issue.

The Fathom Adonia departed Monday finally heading for Cuba. The ship returned to the port late Sunday evening around 10 p.m. but was later given the all clear to leave.

The company issued a statement on the incident saying in part,

"Fathom Adonia has departed Miami for its seven night Cuba itinerary following a delay due to a technical issue. Fathom will now arrive into Havana for the two day call at 07:30 on May 31 and will depart at 18:00 on June 1."

Following the incident, the company cancelled the cruise's stop in Cienfuegos. The ship will head to Santiago De Cuba.
