PHOENIX (CBSMiami) - Former University of Florida football star turned baseball player Tim Tebow took time out to be with a fan who had a medical emergency in the stands.

Last month, the New York Mets signed Tebow to a minor league contract. After his Arizona Fall League debut, Tebow stuck around to sign autographs for fans braving the heat.

One fan in the front row suddenly dropped, prompting others to yell for a medic.

Tebow rushed to the side of the fan, who was convulsing and foaming at the mouth, while EMTs administered care.

While waiting for the fire truck to arrive, the fan went limp. The crowd fell silent while waiting for the sirens.

Tebow reached over, put his hand on the fan and said a quick prayer.

Seconds later, the fan gasped for air and the EMTs took him to a nearby emergency room. No word on his condition.
