TD #7 Upgraded To Tropical Storm Grace

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The seventh tropical storm of the season, which formed on Saturday, now has a name – Grace.

At 5 p.m., Grace was located 285 miles southwest the Cape Verde Islands.

The storm is moving west at about 14 mph, and this motion is expected to continue during the next two days.

Maximum sustained winds have increased from 35 mph to 40 mph with higher gusts. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 35 miles from the center.

Some additional strengthening is expected during the next day or so, with weakening possible by Monday.

There are currently no watches or warnings in effect.

At this time, Grace poses no immediate threat to South Florida.
