Take A Deep Breath, Miami...It's Spa Month

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Are you in need of some pampering, relaxing, and some TLC? Grab a robe and take a deep breath as Miami Spa Month has begun.

All of July, through the end of August 36 participating spas around Miami-Dade are offering spa treatments at up to 50-percent off.

Bill Talbert of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau created the program seven years ago.

"It's either $99 or we have some treatments for $129, so basically you can get a $300 treatment for $99," said Talbert.

Here at the Lapis Spa at The Fontainebleau Miami Beach there are seven treatments to choose from. Stephanie receives the 80 Minute Masters treatment from massage therapist Claudia.

"It focuses on the clients' needs, but we incorporate hot stones and stretching and reflexology," said Claudia.

There are also six different water features to choose from including the elements rain tunnel; multiple jets massage the body with streams of warm and cool water at varied strengths.

The website, www.miamispamonth.com, lists all of the participating spas and their menus of various treatments.

Talbert says The Lapis Spa, as well as the others participating in the program, are clearly the best of the best in Miami Dade.

"Go to the website you'll see Lapis. You'll see the exact treatments that you are going to get. It's different for every spa and you would expect that, said Talbert. "It's an incredible value and for our residence and our visitors," Talbert said.

And the good news is for the next couple of months, you can renew, rejuvenate and reward yourself all you want.
