Swimming Advisory Lifted For Sunny Isles Beach

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The no swimming advisory issued almost a week ago for Sunny Isles Beach has been lifted.

The Florida Department of Health lifted the advisory based on a satisfactory microbial water quality test result.

The swimming advisory was placed into effect Wednesday February 19 after samples taken from the beach water showed higher than acceptable levels of enterococci.

Enteric bacteria, enterococci, is normally found in animal and human intestinal tracks. Higher concentrations in the water indicate fecal pollution which may cause infections and illness.
