MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A Sweetwater family is still in shock after tragedy struck late last week.

Dead is 54 year old Lisbeth Sandigo. Her son Joaquin Villagra is missing.

Tuesday at the crime scene just off 107th avenue, a small memorial stood outside apartment #1 with plenty of police tape still around.

One neighbor says she knows nothing, nervous because she thinks Villagra is on the loose.

But he is not, as the case took a somewhat bizarre twist.

The suspect drove into the parking lot of the Palmetto Bay Village Police Department, went inside and told officers that he was a suspect in a homicide in Sweetwater.

CBS4's Hank Tester was told the man believed to be Villagra was detained for questioning.

His mother's car went missing after she was found dead.

What is unknown is whether it was her that car he drove to the Palmetto Bay Village Police Station.
