SWAT Prepped To Take Down Opa Locka Man Barricaded In Apartment

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Opa Locka police were ready to serve a warrant, until the wanted man barricaded himself in his apartment.

Two SWAT teams were called to NW 141st St. and NW 24th Ave. after the unidentified man locked himself in at around 10:50 a.m. on Wednesday.

Opa Locka police said they believe the man is alone.

Authorities have not said what the warrant is for or if the man is armed.

As a precaution, Nathan Young Elementary, located on 14120 NW 24th Ave., has been put on lockdown.
