SUV Slams Into Little Caesars

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Chaos inside a Homestead Little Caesar's pizza shop after an SUV slammed through the glass front doors.

The driver of a SUV was pulling into a parking space Wednesday night in front of the restaurant when he mistook the gas pedal for brake, according to police.

Workers and customers at neighboring businesses in the shopping center at 28th Avenue and NE 8th Street ran over to make sure everyone was okay.

"We heard a big noise, everybody started running out," said Bruna Sossa. "It was very chaotic, I mean it was very unexpected, no body knew what to do, our first reaction was to run and help the people that were there inside. A few of the people were actually screaming, I heard a lady screaming that she was in pain. There was still smoke from the car itself and the driver was still in the car, he couldn't open the door because thee was something blocking it."

Ten people, whose ages ranged from three years old to 47-years old, were injured; eight were taken to Homestead Hospital in good condition.  They were all treated and released.

The driver was cited for reckless driving.
