MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Police are searching for a stabbing suspect who fled the scene near a college campus in Kendall.

Miami-Dade Police said one person was stabbed Thursday morning at the Shell gas station, across from Miami Dade College, near S.W. 104th Street and S.W. 112th Avenue.

"The property manager of where the gas station is had allowed a homeless man to sleep on the property," said Miami-Dade Police. "The homeless man produced some sort of sharp object and stabbed the victim in the leg, stable condition."

The victim tried to chase down the attacker, police said.
