Supply Rocket Blasts Off From Cape Canaveral

CAPE CANAVERAL (CBSMiami) - Fresh supplies are rocketing toward the International Space Station.

An unmanned rocket loaded with nearly 8,000 pounds of food, equipment and scientific researched blasted off last night from Cape Canaveral.

After off the the supplies, the rocket will be deliberately set on fire. NASA wants to see what happens when a large scale fire erupts in a space capsule in a zero gravity environment.

The space agency hopes the experiment will help them better determine how much fire resistant material is needed in space craft and astronaut gear.
