Stranded Father & Son Rescued In The Everglades
FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) -- A Florida man did not imagine his fishing trip with his son would end with them aboard a Broward Sherriff's Fire Rescue Unit.
Early Wednesday morning Elvis Kendricks and his son left for a fishing trip in the Everglades but after their boat engine failed they needed the lift back to the dock at Everglades Holiday Park.

Fire rescue said Kendricks GPS wasn't working right and they had to have him guide them to the spot they were stranded using a cell phone.
Once back at the dock, Kendricks said of his rescuers, "They were there in 30 minutes! We are fine physically and mentally and ready to go home."
While there is a lot of traffic in the Everglades, the wait for a rescue can be daunting with alligators and pythons being a threat.

It's the second rescue in the Everglades in two days.
On Tuesday, three fishermen were rescued after their air boat sunk in the Everglades.
Through heavy rain, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue hoisted the fisherman to safety. The fishermen used a cell phone and gave the chopper coordinates.
Fire officials said the fishermen will be fine.
