TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami) - Florida's unemployment rate for February was virtually unchanged from the previous month.

During a visit to Naples, Governor Rick Scott announced that the state's unemployment rate for February was 5.6 percent. That's a drop of 0.1 percent from January.

The state's unemployment rate is still slightly higher than the national unemployment rate.

Florida added an estimated 19,700 jobs in February. The new figures show there are roughly 548,000 people out of work in the state.

Florida's unemployment rate drop since 2010 was initially said to be because people stopped looking for work. But economists say that trend changed in 2014 as the economy started to recover.
