State Gives More Online Help To Voters

TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami/NSF) - The Department of State has launched a new online feature intended to help voters prepare for the 2016 elections, which begin with the March 15 presidential primaries.

The department's Get Ready. Get Set. Vote! site was introduced as a centralized voter resource.

Tuesday's launch timed to be part of National Voter Registration Day. The site provides information about where Floridians can register or update voting information, provides links to county election supervisors and outlines methods of voting in Florida.

Secretary of State Ken Detzner said the site will be updated with the latest voter-registration and voting information throughout the year. As of Aug. 31, of the 12 million registered voters in Florida, 4.17 million were Republican, 4.57 million were Democrats, and 2.9 million had no party affiliation.

The News Service of Florida contributed to this report.
