LONDON (CBSMiami) -- The production company behind the latest entry in the Star Wars saga is facing charges by British authorities after the film's biggest star broke his leg while on set.

In June 2014, Harrison Ford was struck by a metal door while filming a scene in the Millennium Falcon for the blockbuster Episode VII: The Force Awakens. Ford, who plays character Han Solo, had to be airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries.

A subsidiary of Disney, Foodles Production, Ltd. (UK), is now being prosecuted relating to alleged health and safety breaches, as reported by the BBC.

The film was shot in Buckinghamshire, England.

The Force Awakens has taken more than $2 billion in box office money worldwide.
