HOMESTEAD (CBSMiami) -- A man who was wanted by the police for allegedly setting his father on fire has turned himself in to authorities.

The Homestead Police Department said Tabias Rollins, 38, left his father in critical condition after pouring gasoline on him and setting him on fire.

It happened Saturday morning in front of the victim's wife at their home at 730 N.W. 17th Street.

"My mom was beside him and my dad was wide awake," said Canitra Rollins, the victim's daughter. "My dad dared him he won't pour the gas. He poured the gasoline on him and tried to light him on fire."

After the incident, Rollins took off in his mother's car but a day later, decided to turn himself in.

Police said Rollins was suffering from wounds sustained in the fire and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Rollins faces numerous charges including felony arson and four counts of attempted murder, one count for each person in the house at the time of the fire.

His father remains at Kendall Regional Trauma Center, being treated for burn injuries.
