Smell Of Smoke Forces Plane To Return To Miami

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – An American Airlines flight on the way to the Bahamas had to turn around and return to Miami due to a smell of smoke in the cabin, an official said.

A spokesperson for American Airlines said flight 3589 left Miami just after 8:00 a.m. with 29 people on board, including three crew members.

The plane landed again safely at just after 8:30 a.m. at Miami International Airport.

While the smell of smoke was reported in the cabin, it was not visible to the crew members.

No injuries were reported.
