SKYdoc Looks To Help Sick Travelers

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Every traveler has been there at least once. A long trip out of town and you start to feel a little under the weather. Now, a group of Miami hotels are using technology to try to solve this problem.

SKYdoc enables a doctor to receive vitals, such as blood pressure, pulse, and EKG reads for non-life threatening illnesses. Hotel concierges or front desk workers can coordinate the technology which allows a doctor to skype one-on-one with the patients.

The service will be available in all of the nearly 200 South Florida hotels of the Greater Miami and the Beaches Hotel Association.

Creator Dr. Ramsey Saffouri is launching the program in South Florida ahead of a worldwide release. He demonstrated the technology, which he said also has wide diagnostic capabilities, at a press conference at the Delano Hotel Wednesday.
