Shooting Leads To Roll Over Crash In Pembroke Park

PEMBROKE PARK (CBSMiami) - A shooting and crash shut down a section of Hallandale Beach Boulevard for several hours early Wednesday morning.

The driver of a car was heading west on the road when one of his passengers, who was handling a gun, shot him in the back. The driver lost control and crashed into a semi-tractor trailer just west of I-95, the vehicle flipped several times.

The driver was taken to the Memorial Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. His three passengers, who were unhurt, were detained by Broward Sheriff's deputies. They were later released.

Investigators believe the shooting was an accident. They add that all four occupants of the car are cooperating in the investigation.
