Teen Shot Inside Parked Vehicle At Tropical Park

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Miami-Dade police are investigating a shooting at Tropical Park in Southwest Miami-Dade on Friday evening.

Police said an unknown person approached a parked SUV and attempted to open the vehicle's door, but the door was locked.

Then, authorities say, the suspect pulled out a gun and began shooting at the vehicle's window, striking the passenger at least one time.

Authorities say the person who was shot is an 18-years-old man. He was rushed to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

A woman who was also in the vehicle was uninjured, according to police.

The shooting was reported on the side of Tropical Park opposite to Santa's Enchanted Forest.

Police have set up a perimeter to search for the suspect in the shooting.

CBS4 Chopper images showed police investigators at the scene.

Tropical Park is located in the 7900 block of SW 40th Street.
