Police Not Releasing Name Of Woman Murdered In Pembroke Pines Condo Parking Lot
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – An investigation is underway after a woman was shot to death early Thursday morning in Pembroke Pines.
It happened around 6:15 a.m. Thursday in the French Villas condo community off University Drive after several residents called 911 to report the sound of gunshots.
Police said the 23-year-old woman, whose name is not being released at this time, was found inside in her black Hyundai Sonata parked in front of a back fence.
"Based on the circumstances, we believe this is an isolated incident and that the victim was likely targeted. We do know that she lives within the French Villas community and she had entered her vehicle to go to work this morning, unfortunately, that's as far she got," said Pembroke Pines Police Captain Al Xiques.
Officers went door to door, spoke with residents and checked vehicles that left the community.
Detectives also looking for any surveillance video which may help them crack the case and catch a killer.
Ring cameras captured the eerie sound of nearly a dozen gun blasts.
Resident Leslie Morales said he heard the shots.
"They were like, 'bam, bam, bam,' very loud. I was working and I thought, 'No way.' Then I heard police sirens," he said.
Resident Evelyn Arguello's interior camera also captured the sound of gunfire.
"My stepdaughter said she heard an argument, people yelling, and then after the gunshots," she said. "She couldn't go back to bed."
