Sheriff's Deputy, Two Others Hurt In I-95 Crash

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - A Broward sheriff's deputy was hospitalized after being involving a crash on I-95 early Monday morning.

The deputy, who was in an unmarked sheriff's department vehicle, was heading south on the highway just after 4 a.m. when it hit a vehicle that was stopped in the HOV lane just south of Copans Road.

The deputy and the two adults who were in the stopped vehicle were taken to Broward Health North hospital. No word on their conditions.

Traffic was diverted off of I-95 onto Copans Road during the crash investigation. All lanes of highway were re-opened at 8 a.m.
