Sexual Predators Could Be Named On Driver's Licenses

TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami/AP) – Under bill language approved in the Florida House, the words "sexual predator" would have to be stamped on the driver's licenses of sexual predators.

The stamp, however, would not be put on the licenses of sexual offenders, who are not considered as dangerous as a sexual predator.

The language was attached to a bill that deals with a number of Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles issues.

Democratic Rep. Gwyndolen Clarke-Reed pointed out that would mean department store clerks checking licenses for a credit card application would see that the person across the counter would be a sexual predator.

Republican Rep. Ed Hooper, who sponsored the amendment, replied, "And I should care why?"
