PLANTATION (CBSMiami) -- Sewage flowed out of multiple manholes in Plantation Monday morning.

The stinky situation may be due to a possible sewer blockage in the 7300 block of NW 17th Street, according to city officials.

The overflowing manholes had sewage flowing from them on both NW 16th Street and NW 17th Street.

Puddling due to the spill caused sewage to enter the canal system nearby.

City officials say they are sampling the canal at three locations. There is also another crew cleaning the areas affected by the spill. Once they have removed the sewage, they will disinfect the affected areas with liquid chlorine.
