Sewage Leak Contaminates East Las Olas Waterways

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - A water warning for residents of several Ft. Lauderdale neighborhoods.

A sewage leak contaminated waterways in parts of the East Las Olas Boulevard area.

Residents whose properties are on the waterways within the following boundaries should avoid swimming, fishing, jet-skiing, or any water-related activities in these waterways:

  • Northern boundary: Northeast 1st Street
  • Eastern boundaries: Northeast 18th Avenue and Southeast 17th Way
  • Southern boundary: The New River
  • Western boundaries: South Victoria Park Road and Southeast17th Avenue

The precautionary advisory is the result of a broken sewer line.

This advisory will be in effect until further notice.
