Serena Williams Teaches CBS4's Jim Berry A Couple Things On The Tennis Court

KEY BISCAYNE (CBSMiami) – With the newly named Miami Open tennis tournament underway at Crandon Park, some of the sports brightest stars are out to try and de-throne last years champions, Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic.

The qualifying rounds of the open began on Monday.  The women's main draw got started on Tuesday while the men will start on Wednesday.

Williams and Djokovic will begin their title defense on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Before getting started in the tournament, Williams was at the Cliff Drysdale Tennis Center at The Ritz-Carlton on Tuesday to play a little tennis with CBS4's Jim Berry.

While the level of competition probably wasn't what Williams is used to, it was thrilling for Berry to get out there with such a prolific star of the sport.

Williams is currently ranked the number one single's women player in the world and is a 19-time Grand Slam winner, as well as a seven-time champion of the Miami Open.
