Sentencing Trial Date Set For Parkland Shooter Nikolas Cruz

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The sentencing trial for Nikolas Cruz, the Parkland school shooter is set to begin on April 4th.

Jury selection was originally set to begin next week, but prosecutors persuaded judge Elizabeth Scherer to give them more time to prepare for the case, which could end with Cruz receiving the death penalty.

Just last week, lawyers for Cruz say he claims his alternate personality is to blame for the deadly massacre from 4 years ago.
