Security Guard Accused Of Selling Undercover Officer Marijuana

FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – In an effort to clean-up a nuisance property in Fort Lauderdale, officials recommended increasing the number of security guards.

However, one of those guards is now charged with selling marijuana to an undercover detective early Thursday morning.

Jeffrey Mincy, 22, is charged with one count of delivery of cannabis.

In December 2013, the City of Fort Lauderdale Nuisance Abatement Board said Beach Place on South Atlantic Boulevard was a nuisance because of continued illegal activity at the property that included narcotics activity.

Recommendations were made which included the addition of the security guards.

While the Fort Lauderdale Police Department Special Investigations Division checked out the property, Mincy, a uniformed Navarro Security guard allegedly sold a detective marijuana.
