Scott Campaign Reels In $400k

TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami/NSF) -- Newly released finance reports showed Governor Rick Scott's re-election campaign collected  $400,215 from Sept. 20th to Sept. 26th.

This brings their overall contribution total to more than $8.65 million, according to a finance report posted online Thursday.

The campaign also spent $202,871 during the week-long period and reported spending an overall total of about $2.64 million.

Earlier Thursday, the "Let's Get to Work" political committee, which plays a major role in Scott's re-election bid, reported that it had topped $40 million in overall contributions.

Among other statewide candidates, Democratic attorney-general nominee George Sheldon reported that his campaign raised $39,798 from Sept. 20 to Sept. 26.

Sheldon had raised an overall total of $655,653, while spending a total of $587,070. Other candidates and political committees face a Friday deadline for filing updated reports.
