Scooter Driver Killed In Miami Hit-And-Run Accident

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – City of Miami Police said a man riding a scooter was killed in hit-and-run accident early Saturday morning.

According to police, the driver of the scooter was at 1 West Flagler Street when a Mazda ran a red light and struck him at around 1:50 a.m.

Police said the man was knocked off of the scooter and onto the trunk of the 4-door sedan.

The man reportedly remained on the trunk of the Mazda until it turned to go onto the on ramp of I-95, where the victim fell off the trunk onto the street.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Miami Police are looking for a silver or gray colored Mazda 4-door sedan, year unknown at this time, with tinted windows.

The vehicle should have front-end, windshield, trunk and under carriage damage.

Authorities have not released the name of the victim.
