Schnellenberger: FAU Only an Underdog Because They Haven't Played Miami Yet

Howard Schnellenberger, former legendary Miami Hurricanes coach who also coached at FAU, appears to be in a pickle on Friday evening when two programs close to his heart square off.

Who is he rooting for?

"I can root for them both," Schnellenberger said on Hochman, Crowder and Krantz. "But I have to show the most allegiance to the people that feed me -- [FAU]. I'm under contract. I'm a roaming ambassador at large."

Meanwhile, Coach Schnell came out swinging.

"They're only an underdog because we haven't played [Miami] yet," he said. "It's always best to be the underdog when you play a team. Who wants to be the favorite when you play the team? You want to be the favorite when the game's over."

Does FAU have a chance vs. Miami being 17-point underdogs?

"I won't say who I think is gonna win, I won't prognosticate, but I have as much faith in our home team as I do the visiting team."
