MIAMI (CBSMiami) – If you don't have to travel to downtown Miami Monday night then try to avoid it. With two major events taking place, traffic is expected to be a nightmare.

The first event is Senator Marco Rubio's highly anticipated announcement where he'll declare his candidacy for the 2016 Presidential race. His speech is set to take place at 6pm in front of the Freedom Tower. Rubio's team says 3,512 people requested tickets before registration closed Friday. Because the Freedom Tower only holds about 1,000 people, Rubio's crew is setting up a second event across the street with a Jumbotron.

Also across the street is the AmericanAirlines Arena where HEAT fans will be attending the Orlando Magic vs. Heat game.

Fans heading to the game are being asked to give themselves enough time to navigate the area around the Arena due to the Rubio speech.

Use of public transportation, including the Metrorail, Metrobus and Metromover, is strongly encouraged.

For more information on public transportation, please visit www.miamidade.gov/transit.

The HEAT tipoff against the Magic at 7:30 p.m.
