MIAMI (CBSMiami) – It's about to get loud this weekend at Bayfront Park.

The Rolling Loud Festival is taking over downtown Miami Friday through Sunday with a music lineup featuring the biggest acts in hip hop.

"We're very excited," said Tariq Cherif, one of the founders of Rolling Loud.  "We invested over $10 million in this event and into the city of Miami."

Featuring A$AP Rocky, Lil Wayne, Future and Kendrick Lamar, among the many other artists, the three-day festival is completely sold out and is expected to draw about 40,000 fans per day from all over the country.

Chase Brown says he and his friends flew in from Boston for the festival.

"I was just looking online for a music festival and happened to see this and I saw the lineup and once I saw the lineup I was like, 'Yeah, I have to go,'" said Brown.

Gates open Friday from 4 p.m. to midnight, then noon to midnight on Saturday, and noon to 11 p.m. on Sunday.

Miami Police officers will be assigned throughout the area to assist with traffic control. There will be one northbound lane on Biscayne Boulevard closed between Chopin Plaza and NE 4th Street.

"Everyone that's either coming to the festival or who are going to be in the downtown Brickell area this weekend, bring a lot of patience," said Miami Police Department Lt. Freddie Cruz.

According to our news partners at the Miami Herald, Miami Commissioner and Bayfront Trust chairman Frank Carollo was concerned about downtown residents and workers dealing with another large music festival in less than two months.

"We're just coming off Ultra so this is supposed to be on a smaller scale," said Nikki Friendly, who lives in the area. "It'll really back up traffic. I don't plan on driving anywhere this weekend."

The Rolling Loud Festival has established a community hotline for any questions regarding the event, (305) 777-2550. Contact Miami-Dade Transit at (786) 469-5420 for any questions regarding the bus reroutes.
